Making a Butterfly Kite

by Onna Holland

Kids love to fly kites! There is not much better on a windy day then flying a beautiful kite and watching it go up, up, up in the air!! This Kite Craft is fun not only to make, but to use!! Before making this kite I would suggest reading Kite Flying by Grace Lin. It's a great book about a family that makes a dragon kite. There is also a short history of Chinese kites and their meaning. After you read this great book it will be even more exciting to make your own!!
